Chaining Queries
Chaining lets you refine a previous watchlist instead of rescanning the whole market. It is useful for multi-step workflows where each filter should narrow the last result.
1
Run a broad scan
Start with a larger universe, such as oversold stocks, high-volatility coins, or sector-specific names.
2
Select prior results
Use query history to chain from one or more previous watchlists in the same market.
3
Apply the next filter
Sortefi scans only the symbols from the previous result set and returns the refined list.
Example Workflow
1. S&P 500 stocks with RSI below 40 on daily
2. From that list, keep only stocks above the 200 day EMA
3. From that list, show the top 10 by volume
Rules
Chained queries must stay in the same market. Cross-market chaining is not supported because symbols, exchanges, and available data fields differ between markets.
