Renko Screener: Find Renko Setups Across Every Market in Plain English

Sortefi now reads Renko bricks. Describe the Renko setup you want, on any market and any timeframe, and get back every symbol where it holds right now.
Renko traders usually check one chart at a time. A screener does the opposite: it builds the bricks for every symbol in the market and keeps the ones that match. That is now one sentence away.
What a Renko chart is
A Renko chart ignores time. It draws a new brick only when the price closes a full brick size beyond the last brick: up for a green brick, down for a red one. To change colour, the price has to move two bricks the other way. Small wiggles draw nothing, so the trend is easier to see.

Here is the rule on a small example. With a brick size of 10, a close has to reach the next round step to draw a brick, and the colour only changes after a two-brick move the other way:

The brick size decides everything. Sortefi accepts the three common ways to set it:
- ATR: the average true range, so bricks scale with each symbol's volatility (“atr 14 box”). This is the default.
- Percent: a fixed share of the price (“2% box”), which compares well across symbols.
- Price: a fixed amount (“₹10 bricks”, “$5 bricks”), best for a single symbol or a narrow list.
What you can ask for
- The colour of the last brick: “Renko green on the daily”.
- A run of bricks: “4 or more red bricks in a row”.
- A colour change: “Renko turned green” (the last three candles unless you give a window), “turned red in the last 5 sessions”, or “changed colour” for either way.
- Price against the bricks: “close above the top of the last brick”.
- Renko with anything else: RSI, volume, moving averages, an index or a sector, on the same screen.
It works on crypto, US stocks, NSE stocks, ETFs and forex, from 1-minute candles up to monthly. If you don't say which candles, Sortefi asks rather than guessing.
Screens we ran on launch day
These are real screens from our tests on 4 November, typed the way traders type. The counts are what each screen returned that morning; run them today and you will get today's list.
- Crypto“renko green on the 4h with atr 14 box”186 perpetuals had a green last brick.
- Crypto“binance perps with 4 or more red renko bricks in a row on daily, 2% box”337 Binance perpetuals were in a red run of at least four 2% bricks.
- Crypto“coins with RSI(14) above 55 on daily and renko turned green”11 coins: daily momentum above 55 and a fresh green Renko brick in the last three days.
- Indian stocks“Nifty 500 stocks where the daily Renko chart is bullish”221 of the Nifty 500 had a green last brick.
- Indian stocks“stocks where yesterday's daily renko brick was red and today it turned green”124 NSE stocks flipped from red to green on the day.
- Forex“any forex pair with renko bullish on 15m, box 0.1%”38 pairs had a green 0.1% brick on 15-minute candles.
How we build the bricks
Different charting tools draw Renko slightly differently, so here is exactly what we do, and every result says so in its notes.
- Bricks are built from closing prices. High-low (“wick”) Renko isn't supported yet; ask for it and Sortefi tells you instead of running something else.
- One brick size for the whole chart, measured on the last finished candle, so the answer doesn't shift while the current candle is still forming.
- Bricks sit on round steps of the brick size. With a ₹10 brick the edges are 1,000, 1,010, 1,020 and so on, wherever the history starts. That keeps the result the same however much history is loaded. A chart that starts its grid at its first candle can place the edges a little differently.
When you open a result, the chart shows the last brick's edges and arrows where the bricks changed colour. Switch it from Candles to Renko to see the bricks themselves.
Try it
Pick a market, describe the Renko setup, and you get the symbols. New accounts get free screens; after that you pay per screen, with no subscription.
Sortefi returns lists of symbols that match what you describe. It doesn't give advice, forecasts or buy and sell calls. Educational only, not financial advice.
