Intraday Stock Screener
Screen NSE stocks during market hours in plain English — opening-range breaks, VWAP, gap-ups, volume surges and candle patterns on 1, 5 or 15-minute charts. A watchlist in under a minute.
What an intraday screener is for
Intraday trading is decided in the first hour. Out of a couple of thousand NSE stocks, only a handful break their opening range, hold above VWAP or open with a real gap — and by the time you have flipped through charts to find them, the move is half done.
An intraday screener checks every stock against your setup on live 1-minute data and returns only the ones that match right now. With Sortefi you describe the setup in one sentence, the way you'd explain it to another trader, and get the list back in under a minute.
Setups you can screen
Opening range: the first 5, 15 or 30-minute candle's colour, high and low, and whether price has broken above or below it since. Gaps: stocks that opened more than a set percent above or below yesterday's close, and whether the gap is holding. VWAP: price above or below VWAP, or crossing it. Volume: the latest candles against their own recent average, or today's volume so far against the usual pace. Levels: previous day's high, low and close.
Indicators run on the intraday candles too — Supertrend, moving-average crossovers, RSI, MACD, Bollinger Bands, ATR — on 1, 5, 10, 15 or 30-minute charts or 1 and 2-hour candles. Candle counts start at the 09:15 IST open, the same way Zerodha and TradingView draw them, so "the first 15-minute candle" is 09:15 to 09:30.
How to write a good intraday screen
Name the candle size ("on 5-minute candles") and the moment you care about ("the first 15-minute candle", "in the last 3 candles", "since the open"). Give numbers where they matter — "gapped up more than 2%", "volume above 2x the 20-bar average". If something important is missing, Sortefi asks one short question rather than guessing.
Run the screen whenever you want a fresh list: right after the open, after the first hour, before the close. Sortefi runs a screen when you ask; it doesn't send alerts or place orders. Matching symbols come back ready to copy or import into TradingView or your broker's watchlist.
